CHOPIN PLUS – A Concert Series by Pietro Massa The concert series CHOPIN PLUS places the iconic piano works of Frédéric Chopin in a compelling dialogue between tradition and modernity. Internationally acclaimed pianist Pietro Massa invites audiences to discover the timeless magic of Chopin’s music within a broader artistic context—juxtaposed with visionary soundscapes from both earlier and later musical eras.

Presented as annual matinées on the first Sunday in May at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie, each concert explores the deep aesthetic and stylistic connections between Chopin and a selected “composer counterpart.”

Chopin remains the central figure in these curated pairings, serving as the axis around which contrasting styles and sensibilities are brought into vivid conversation.

By combining Chopin’s masterpieces with works from composers far removed in time or idiom, CHOPIN PLUS offers listeners a fresh perspective on his enduring relevance—and a uniquely immersive listening experience shaped by contrast, resonance, and reflection.

The series launches in 2025 and is conceived to span multiple seasons, with one matinée concert per year.
