CHOPIN PLUS 2027

This Chopin Plus recital brings together two defining voices of nineteenth-century piano music.

Beethoven’s late Sonatas Op. 109 and Op. 110 transform the classical sonata tradition through variation, counterpoint and an increasingly concentrated musical language.

Chopin’s Four Ballades, performed as a complete cycle, open a different perspective on musical form and narrative. Written between 1831 and 1842, they trace the evolution of Chopin’s compositional language from dramatic immediacy to extraordinary structural complexity.

Within the ZeitenKlänge Music Festival, the programme explores music across time: Beethoven and Chopin are heard not as isolated historical figures, but as part of a continuing process of transformation, in which tradition becomes the starting point for new forms of expression.
